Hello all,
I have tried all the similar solutions to my problemin the various fora but none work.
I have just installed WIndows 7 Home 64bit on a new motherboard. Updates and all.
Specs:
ASUS P8Z68-v-pro Mobo
Billion Bipac 7404 VGP router
Windows 7 Home
Wireless works with a Usb D-Link wireless
The cable from my Billion router/modem is recognised but there is no internet.
In network and sharing centre I can see Wireless as Home Network and cable as:
Unidentified network - Public Network (no link = can't change it).
The 4 TCP/IPv4 is set at automatic. Even if I put the Billion default address 192.1xx.x.x and subnet and gateway nothing.
Tried going into ipconfig and it gives me a 169.xxx.xxx.x (=no internet connection then, but I knew that).
I updated:
BIOS
WINDOWS
Motherboard
Intel ethernet
Cable LAN works on my laptop which has Windows 7 Home 32bit,
Rebooted PC, Router,
Safe Networking mode
Windows troubleshooting (shows no ip address)
No Firewall, no Antivirus, no Quicktime or Bonjour,no strange services running in the background (have only Microsoft and Asus drivers and programs...)
Installed Windows twice
Unticked TCP/IPv6
Deleted 0.0.0.0
I ran as admin these commands
Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog
Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log
Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log
Nothing
Ran as Admin these commands:
netsh int ip reset C:\netsh.log.txt
netsh winsock reset
IT WORKED, very slowly at 10Mbps instead of 100 or automatic, until I finished the Windows Update, rebooted and crashed agin....
doesn't work anymore
Tried reinstalling drivers for Bios, ASUS, Billion, Intel nothing
Any ideas?
