I finally built my first build yesterday~~ Everything seems to work fine EXCEPT my LED at the front of my case (coolermaster HAF 912). Furthermore my gpu (zotac gtx 560 ti) ONLY works when i disconnect the supplementary power that comes directly from my psu (OCZ Modxstream Pro 700w)<---- modular.

My computer build:
Corsair vengeance 8gb
Western digital caviar black 500gb
zotac gtx 560 ti
i5 3570k 3.4ghz unlocked
OCZ Modxstream pro 700w
Coolermaster HAF 912
GIGABYTE GA-Z77-D3H

My GPU manuel doesn't say ANYTHING about adding supplementary power.... it just tells me to connect to the pci-e slot. Maybe the card doesnt need supplementary power?

Wait, cross out what i said about the gpu not working. It fires up and everything, the problem is that the monitor doesn't turn on when i plug in the supplementary power

Yes i have two dvi ports. I tried the one 6pin pcie line and it works, however it takes a second or two for the monitor to work. (I am currently testing with both HDMI for tvs and VGA for monitors. If this helps, when the tv doesnt work, it says the the resolution is not supported. The computer does seem therefore to register onto the monitor and tv.

Take a close look at the graphics card, if it has two 6-pin PCI connectors you need to use both. (as moto said, most GTX 560s have two)

With the ModXStream, you should have a 6-pin PCI-E and a 6+2pin PCI-E cable, connect both.

Hmmm... are you using the right set of ports on the back? You need to be using the HDMI/DVI ports on the video card itself, NOT the DVI/VGA on the motherboard's back panel.

If you can't get any signal from the graphics card, you could try removing the video card entirely, and testing using the CPU's onboard video chipset (using the mobo's back panel DVI/VGA ports)

I tried using the hdmi on the video card and it works! However the video card doesn't have a vga, how should i plug into a monitor that only supports vga? What do you mean by using the DVI/HDMI, should i have plugged something into the dvi?

The ports on the motherboard back panel itself are for the CPU's internal graphics chipset only, they cannot be used when a PCI-E graphics card is installed.

To run your VGA monitor, you need a DVI -> VGA adapter, and you need to put it on one of the DVI ports of your graphics card. Every video card I've seen that does not have a VGA port included an adapter, check your packaging. If not, try a local computer shop or ask a friend, very common & cheap piece.
