This is what I would do:

Yes that adds up to be a bit more than what you suggested but trust me it's worth it.

Its a CPU and a GPU combined into one, and it lets you add a GPU in Xfire down the road (I think a 6670 would work). You can also add a CPU fan and overclock it later on.

Decent motherboard, brand new, decent features, good price.

Brand new RAM, Good price, descent brand.

All in all, your still way under...

All looks good with the exception of the power supply. Never go with a no-name PSU. Always go with a well reputed manufacturer like Antec, Corsair, Seasonic, PC Power and Cooling.

This Antec Basiq 500 watt would be a better bet. Yes, I know it costs a bit more, but better that than a PSU that fries your new system.

The only other thing I'd note would be your scavenged parts. The motherboard you've selected does not have an IDE port (not many do these days), so you need to make sure the scavenged parts are SATA and not IDE.

I agree with this - no name PSUs are never a good way to go. But that GPU won't use that much power. Maybe try an Antec Earth Watts instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371033

yeah when i said i was on a budget i really ment it. my budget is $300 and i absolutely cannot go over. also i was told to make sure that i had at least a 450 watt PSUwhen i asked about the GPU

Frys has the Lepa 500n for $31 . 34amps on the 12v rail .A much better power supply than the one you listed.
Also the ad is decieving. One place it lists a 6 pin pcie connector and another place is does not list a pcie connector. You will definately need one for the video card.

All in all, your still way under budget. That leaves you room to buy a CPU fan to overclock, a cheap GPU to use with your CPU, or money to buy a better case/PSU or faster RAM. Maybe you could even squish in a cheap SSD to boot off of! Best of all, all these parts are new, so you wont have to worry about premature failure.

If you do go down your route, a better PSU is a must. I'd also recommend a new case.

Frys.... :non:

The Antec Earth Watts 380 that I linked to is a good supply and it's far better than a lot of the ones listed.

Ever see anything marked "open box" or "returned item" on the shelves there? They just restock things and put them back on the shelf without sending them back to the manufacturer - that is so dishonest that it's hard to shop there for that reason. They also have a horrible internet supply chain - there's a reason why my boss refers to them as "Fry Me's".

I never encourage anyone to buy anything open box, returned item or refurbished. Even on really slim budgets that has the potential to be disastrous - and you pretty much take your chances with those parts since you most likely won't be able to get service for them.
