samsung dvd-610s prob

my dvd (samsung sd-610s) isn't working at all
it just spins trying to get a grip on the dvd an then stops, freezing explorer and finally locks my pc
has anyone of you guys found ANY possible solution for this problem? I disabled DMA ut no change.Is the problem my
voodoo3000 (oc.at 175Mhz) or my cdwriter (LG CED-8080B)?
Please help me out!!

512MB RAM
voodoo3 3000
SB1024 live (APS drivers)
Alcatel Speedtouch USB Adsl modem
Seagate Barracuda HD at master
DVD samsung sd-610s at master
LG CDRW CED-8080B at slave

would probably be easier just to replace it.

it sounds like a serious hardware problem to me.

Removed, replaced, and reinstalled samsung sd-610s.

Unit checks good on ground power, IAW maintenance instruction manual.
