In my original planned home build, I was going to get a combo deal HD6950 + 4GB RAM + BF3 for $219.98 from Newegg. Now, the cheapest card I alone is $250, so I have revised it to tone down on the GPU and have some room for the other parts.
By the way, my budget is $500. So anyways, both the GTX 550ti and the HD 7770 are available for roughly $100. I am aware the 550ti has higher base speeds than the 7770, but it is also to my understanding that 7770 can be overclocked more. Now, for $100 I'm not expecting much, just a steady 60FPS on the games I play (Battlefield, Dragon Age, League Of Legends, Minecraft, DOTA, etc.) for now until I upgrade the GPU at Christmas for something like a high end HD 7XXX or GTX 6XX

If it matters, my other specs (theoretically) are:
CPU: AMD FX-8120 (OC to 4.0GHz) - $170
PSU: COOLER MASTER 650W 80+ - $80
MOBO: MSI 970GA ATX - $70
Case: COOLER MASTER Elite 430 - $50
RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 1 x 4GB DDR3 1600 - $25
And there's about $15 in rebates, so $400 before and $385 after. No shipping fees either.

Oh, and I think this is important too. I'll be running on a 1280 x 1024 monitor for quite a while, and running on Windows 7 Ultimate. Keep the resolution in mind, I think that makes a difference (maybe?).

ANYWAYS, back the original question, which card gives me more bang for my buck? Or are there any other cards within my price range I can get that are better? All input is appreciated, thank you.
