Normal tempreture whilst idling for cpu in new build?

hey guys, i just built my first computer with these components
Processor: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivy Bridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor £155
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G43 Intel Z77 Socket 1155 DDR3 PCI-Express Motherboard £80
RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) Corsair Vengeance Jet Black Low Profile 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Dual/Quad Channel Kit £30
Graphics Card: MSI HD 7870 Black Knight OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card [R7870-2GD5T/OC] £180
HDD: 500GB Seagate Barracuda ST500DM002 3.5" SATA III Hard Drive £40
Case: Cooler Master Elite 430 Black Midi Tower Window Gaming Case £40
PSU:600W Corsair Builder Series 600CX 80PLUS Bronze Power Supply £50
DVD burner: Samsung SH-118AB/BEBE Black 18x SATA DVD ROM - OEM £10
and after leaving it on to download some games for an hour or two i went to check the tempretures, and it said the average temp for the cpu was on average 34C, with the max being 48. i was only running steam and was more or less idle, so i was wondering if this seemed like a normal temp for my cpu? stock heatsink on btw.
(ps:so happy my first build went okay, so please dont tell me my cpu is going to die any minute lol)

Yep. pretty normal so far. Run prime95 and see what your max is.

Your idle temps are largely dictated by the ambient (room) temperature and not so much the cooler you have (Stock im guessing). But that idle is fairly normal, wouldn't be concerned about it. The 3570k can get to something ridiculous like 105C before it will start throttling its performance to stop from overheating.

And as proof that ambient really is a large factor. When I put in my WC loop it was in winter, ~13C at idle, yesterday in the heat of the Australian summer and it was more like 36C.
Air conditioning the room is probably the best way to lower your idle temps if your concerned by them.
