What GPU for bf3 is best?

I cant decide on what set up to do.

1-get a EVGA 560 ti and a 750w PSU so I can sli later

2-get a gtx 480 and a 650w Psu and not sli

I have a i5 2500k and will be mainly playing bf3.

what one will be better performance and in the long run?

for performance now get the gtx 480
make sure you buy a good brand psu (corsair ,seasonic etc)
avoid coolermaster at all costs
just keep in mind the temps and power consumption for the 480

Here is a rather thorough list of power supplies, the good and the bad. The ones in tier 1 and 2, and sometimes 3 are good power supplies. I would only recommend 1 and 2, but that's just me.

If you want the power now, the 480 is the way to go. Sometimes AND ONLY SOMETIMES people are not happy with how the SLI is working in their system.

EDIT: That being said, the 560Ti right now should be able to play BF3 on pretty high settings. On singleplayer on ultra, my Radeon 6950 runs it at 55 or so fps, and mine is about 1-2% percent faster than a 560Ti.

Multiplayer is a different story. Its much more CPU based.

Based purely on benchmark results and youtube videos, the 7850 seems to run cooler, consume less and perform better than the 560 Ti (assuming you don't mind having an AMD GPU).

Personally, i'd go for the 1 option though, not only the GPU itself is good enough to run BF3 at nice resolutions (don't know your case though) and the PSU is good enough if you ever want to upgrade.

Go for the 560ti so you can SLI later. I would absolutely get an 850W PSU though. I had a 560ti SLI setup and just overclocking the card (no CPU) would make me hit a power ceiling with a 700W.

Save yourself the trouble down the road and get a beefier PSU if you're even considering SLI.

Neither, get a gtx 670 with the extra money you don't spend on a beefy PSU.

Hey I have the gtx 560 time 2gb and and antholon x4 and I can run all ultra jacked up settings at 50 fps in bf3 love it

Also that's in a 64 slot server on Caspian border with really bad ping
