My desktop was working very well, and I needed to restart it to have some graphics drivers fully updated. It had been on and off, and often had a problem where when I wanted to start it up, I needed to strip it down to the CPU, hsf, and mobo. Then I had to put ram in, and if I didn't hear the "system failed VGA test", I would need to start from the beginning. Then, if I did hear it I would put the gcard in it will boot, say system failed due to CPU overclocking, or remain silent, with all fans spinning. Now, it has been acting funny, and I had to reset CMOS very, very often during this process to get it to boot. Now, no matter what I do, the system will just send a ticking sound to the motherboard speaker and nothing will respond but the fans. Including the graphics card fan. I have tried everything I can think of, so if anyone can give me some insight, I would be very grateful.
My specs:

G-card- pny geforce 7600 gs 512mb agp
CPU: intel pentium 4 2.8ghz
Ram: Kingston ddr 512mb sticks x4
