Resolution change after reboot?

Hello people, i'm having this problem: after installing a game which requieres a desktop resolution change to work, now the Catalyst Control Center chooses a resolution for my monitor that it's one less than the optimum. (Now each time i reboot, the drivers set the resolution to 1600x1200 and all my desktop icons are in another place where they were, and i have to go manually and set the res to 1680x1050 -that's the res i have ever had-). Any suggestion? It's not a monitor problem 'cause a message from it appears every time i reboot that says that i should set the res to 1680x1050.

Open CCC. Click on My VGA Displays, click on properties. Check the box under monitor attributes saying Use EDID. Click apply.

Sorry, if i check that box and apply, it automatically sets the monitor to 1600x1200 when historically the CCC set it to 1650x1050. It all change after the installation of this game that 'changes' de resolution in order to function.

Try unchecking the box & selecting your maximum resolution 1680x1050 from drop down box & then click apply.

Thank you, this worked for me without the need of restart the pc without the adapters I'm using for plug xbox and pc!
