Should i upgrade to 7850?

I current have a MSI GTX460 1GB cyclone installed on my PC I want to know if it is worth upgrading to amd7850?
I wud also like to ask how much max power consumption difference is there between gtx460 and 7850 as 460 requires 2x6pin and 7850 req only 1x6pin connector.

those are the power consumption of the entire system(mobo+cpu+gpu+hdd+fans) not just the gpu. That should give you an indication of how big your psu needs to be to power up the entire thing.

So u mean that a high end system along with GTX460 will consume only 260W ?? my amd cpu has TDP of 95W and GTX460 is 170W =265W and that doesnt include any fans RAM or HDD?

using this system they conclude 7850 consumes a bit over 250W ? i find it hard to believe.I am confused how they calculate power consumption.

it means you need to have that amount of wattage on the 12v rail of your psu which is generally far less than the actual psu wattage. Watts = Amps x Volts

so 265w=Ax12, A=22. So you need at least 22A on the 12v rail of the psu. The actual wattage of the psu means nothing in this instance.

it have an amd 7850 and its worth buying .... but i'll suggest that you wait till november and same money and ultimately buy 7970 or gtx 580.. if u want to buy now go with 7850

hmm but 7850 is quiet costly rightnow i think there will be a price drop once GTX660 is released in market so i will wait a month to see how amd reacts.
