Hi all,

I'm making a video editing computer. It's got to be around the $1000-$1300 mark.

So far I've got.

CPU- intel i7 3930k
Motherboard- asrock xtreme x97
VGA- 2g gtx 650ti
Hard disk- 2tb sata

Firstly, what type of ram should I get? I was looking at a Corsair Vengeance 32gb package.

Aso what are your thoughts on this setup for hd video editing with programs like after effects? I may also use cinema 4d if the setup can handle it.

Thanks so much,

i recommend going with 32gb of ram 4x8gb vengeance you dont need anything more than the standard 1600mhz stuff

and you will need to be able to write to the disk fast so maybe go with raid 0 2x1Tb sata if you are willing to go with it the price difference will be marginable and you may want to overclock the CPU you will need a aftermarket cooler the graphics card should be fine i dont know much about strain on GPU's in video editing but if they can be a bottleneck go with the 660 Ti as it uses nvidia's top of the line GPU
