If light on motherboard but no power what does mean

Hi I hope somebody can help, I have a Asus M4A785TD-V EVO mobo, AMD chip. The system is running win 7 64bit. The other day the pc would not turn off so had to flick the switch on the power supply. Today I tried to turn it on but no luck, no power. The only thing I have is a green light on the mobo. I am wondering if it could be the power supply or something else. Thanks in advance Neil.

Not the PSU I don't think. Try unplugging and doing it again.

Thanks for getting back to me Djay62, it turned out to be the PSU. I bought a new one slightly more power fitted and plugged it in and it was back alive. I have since had my old PSU checked and all that was coming out was a small trickle, enough to power the LED light on the mobo.
