What should my "GPU usage, %" on MSI Afterburner look like?

quick question: what should the line graph on MSI Afterburner for GPU usage, % look like during gaming?

i have a ZOTAC gtx 670 AMP! edition, and i monitored Afterburner while playing Deus Ex: HR and the GPU usage % (as well as the Power %) were zig-zagging up and down. Is it normal for them to be zig zagging like that or should it be a smooth line graph?

I was just wondering as it kind of worried me.

Thanks for your time

It depends on the game. Usually, a very intensive game that uses the GPU goes above 80%.

Most older games will average ~50-70%

it does average about 60, but during gameplay does the line graph oscillate much, like +/- 15%? im wondering of it should be a straight line more or less

Oscillation is fine. A lot of things are going on in the game. For a game like Battlefield 3, you go things loading up and spawning almost every second or so. It's completely normal.
