Hi

I'm looking for a basic workstation to use while on call for radiology this year for prelim reads (a fellow). Maybe light gaming (D3).

Mostly this is to keep me from going into the hospital at 2-3 am if I don't need to.

One build is with the AMD A8-3850, Asus F1A55, Gskill PC1866 ram, antec con power 380 PS, some rosewill micro atx tower.

This combo can be had for $270.

I have some left over sata HDs and a 24" dell monotor (S-PVA).

Alternative is the intel g620, ASrock H61M-DGS, evga gt630, plus 8 gigs ram. This is the $330-350 price range.

I'd like to keep costs down, but if the performance is that much better, would be willing to spend the extra.

Its a system I'd use this year and hope once I finish I could put together a more worthy home work station with a radiology grade monitor.

May convert this into a home network file server next year.
