I am looking to build the ultimate WOW Raid machine, no expense, just to see what is the best machine on FPS when running Tripple screen setup.
I was wondering, there are now Quad channel Motherbords with socket 2011 out there that are amazing. Also a lot of nice memory and video cards out there.
I know that WOW does not use Multi core a lot but more the chipset, network card, video card and memory speed.
I am thinking of either a lower budget P9X79, or the Sabertooth or the rampage.
The Z9PE-D16 is to much overkill, WOW does not need this.
On top of these nice Motherbords a quad core I7, 16GB Quad channel ram or 64 GB to create a ramdrive to copy windows/wow on. I have seen rigs with 512 GB bot that is just insane and insane expensive so that is just for dreamers (40K euro of ram lol) I have a SSD that loads arround 500 MB/s and that is fine for me.
I am looking for the best video setup (single / Dual / Tripple / Quad) that brings best FPS in 25 man raids. The higher FPS the better.
With the Video cards you have selected, you will only be physically able to install 2 of them due to Heatsink Fan space requirements. Unless you rip those off and go with Watercooling. Personally i would.
With maximum settings in WoW at this point, you need PixelShader Power up the Yingyang when it comes to Raid battles due to all the Spell effects going off in a small location which usually happens when your stacked up fighting a boss. The More throughput the better. But realistically, getting your video to remain constant at 60FPS or more should be the primary goal, anything faster than that your brain can't tell the difference. Unless your a Cyborg =P
Thank you for the reply, I am happy with 60fps ofc. That mainbord has a darker colour PCIX16 slot that takes over the one to the right making tripple sli with triple slot cooling possible It is not realistic though, i know. How to find the max Pixelshader power, is de Gforce 6xx series the best choice atm?
