2nd harddrive

quick question, i was going to hook up my old drive cause i had to get a couple files off it. but it still has w2k installed on it. i was going to set it as primary slave (i don't want to boot off it). will there be any conflicts between to OSes? i just don't want run into a big sh!t burger. thanks.

You may have to boot off of it to get to the files, if the partition on the drive is formatted as NTFS, and you have Win98 on the Primary partition, on the new drive.

If both drives have the same file system, and the boot.ini file only shows one bootable partition, then you are fine.

Backing up, first ... before changing things around, is the smart thing to do.

first, don't ever accuse me of using win9x/me again! :p
my main drive now is on a ata controller(pci) and only w2k on it. the other older drive is w2k only and would be set as primary slave.

CPUs are like testicles, every computer should have 2!

lol... i know how u feel.

at the moment im using 98 to do some serious drive/mobo troubleshootin... and somehow i feel "unclean" using 98 again.
P.S. its also crashed once and my recycle bin doesnt work lol.
i remember when i used to put up with these bugs.

soon as ive worked out whats bugging my system im goin straight back to 2k.
though its interesting to compare games cauz ive never before used 98 on this setup.
