Cd-rw disappears after sleep mode in win2k?

I have a cd-rw that is on the primary channel of a PCI ATA/100 controller (koutech). After coming out of sleep mode in win2k, I get a message saying I have disconnected or turned off a device, the cdrw (liteon 16x), and it no longer appears in 'my computer' or in the hardware profile. a hard drive that is on the secondary controller of the pci card remains active, as does a liteon dvd drive connected to the secondary onboard ide controller. any ideas/suggestions?

Try to eject te CD and then put it back in this may restore the power to the drive and cause it to be recogonized. My other idea is look at your power saving settings control panel and modify the one for the CD drive.
