Hiya!

Basically i have a Dell Dimension the specs are in my signature, anyway my mobo has a lga775 socket and i was wondering if it would be safe to upgrade from the e4300 to the q6600 quad core using the e4300s fan? and if additional power supply is required

Many Thanks

NO.

the heatsink for the E4300 is MUCH smaller than for the Q6600.

that appears to be much better but i personally do know how good it is. it does say it can be used for a core2quad but keep in mind that the q6600 and q6700 run the hottest of all the C2Qs (105 watts as opposed to 95 watts).

is there a chance you can afford this:
Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Evo £19.99 inc VAT

or this:
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro £15.90
