How do I enable ATI Radeon 5670 with 2 monitors

Good day.

I have a ATI Radeon 5670 graphics adapter currently supporting one monitor on the DVI port. I decided to hook up another monitor (VGA) on the Displayport of the adapter using a Displayport-to-VGA adapter, but it does not activate.

Is there anything else I need to do to enable the VGA monitor?

On the screen resolution window, you can set the way you want to show the new monitor.

That must be all you have to do unless your monitor isn't showing there.

What adapter are you using? have you checked the drivers? also try right clicking the desktop hit resolution and hit detect.

Thanks for the replies, but none of these answers work. Both monitors show up in the list and when I check the "Extend my Windows desktop to this monitor" and hit "Apply", nothing happens and the box is unchecked again.

I might add that the OS is XP Pro.

What specific 5670 are you using? and what specific adapter (A product page would help us or model number etc.) IIRC you need an active display port to vga adapter for it to work, with that said I don't think they make non active display port to vga...
