Hi there,

Just looking for a thumbs up really as admittedly i am not an IT wizard by any means. Been having a play around and ended up with the below build that fits my budget. I am looking to be able to play modern games on high spec at least (bf3, crisis etc).

Will the build below cut it? I may have gone a little over kill on the PSU, but I have read the gtx 570 can be a little power hungry, I will be using a 27inch monitor on 1920x1080 so I want to make sure the display is pushed through with as little struggle as possible. Any feedback greatly appreciated thanks in advance!
Ps- not looking to over clock or sli/crossfire down the line, just want a simple yet effective build that does the job

GTX 570 is old news. Many games will easily blow past the 1280mb of SGRAM without breaking a sweat. Skyrim alone uses twice that on my PC

Get yourself a Radeon 7970 or GTX 670, they are around the same price right now. The 570 is not going to stand the test of time for much longer

Use Corsair Vengeance memory or Mushkin Redline memory instead of Corsair XMS3. XMS3 is some weird ***, causes a lot of problems.

thanks for the reply,

the step up to 7970 / gtx 670 is about £100 jump or so. probs abit above my budget. would getting a 7850 and overclocking it be a better option to the gtx 570 then? as the 7850 is roughly the same price as the gtx 570 it seems

The 7870 is slightly ahead of the 570, but the gap between the 7870 and the 7850 is pretty big. If you can get a 7870 within your budget I'd go for that. I would say that the extra 100 for the 7970 is worth it though
