So I am in the process of a new all purpose build. Mainly to be used for Light gaming (nothing beyond 1920 X 1080), light video editing, general web surfing etc. I was originally looking at a budget of around $2k. That will obviously build me far more computer than I need, but I can afford it so why not. On the flip side while I don't mind spending money I don't like wasting money.
I will be reusing my existing monitors, keyboard, mouse, and storage drives.
I seem to be running well below what my estimated budget is which makes me happy, but makes me wonder if I am missing something. All prices are from Newegg, and are after any instant rebates if applicable.
So here it is.
Rosewill Thor V2 Case $129.99
Rosewill Capstone 650-m power supply $99.99
Asus Sabertooth Z77 Motherboard $239.99
Intel Core i7 3770 processor
Asus GTX 660 Ti video card $299.99
G.Skill Ripjaws 16GB DDR3 2133 memory $169.99
Samsung 830 MZ-7PC256D/AM 256GB SSD $218.99
(note I will be retaining a pair of 1TB drives from my current PC for storage)
Total price $1,468.93
And typing this up I just realized I have left off a CPU cooler, I will add that.
All suggestions are welcome.
