Is it dangerous to get an OEM card?

Tomorrow, I'm going to get a cheap second-hand GTS250.I know that there are much better cards out at the moment but I don't care about that at this time.My concern is the fact that the card is the OEM version.I'm worried because I heard that the OEM versions might be worse than it's retail counterparts.Is this true?Will my performance on an OEM GTS250 be worse than a retail GTS250?I don't care about fancy packaging or manuals I just want to know if my performance will be bad.

OEM is no worse then Retail i believe. not sure but it might be down clocked a bit

There are only a few cards where the OEM versions and the retail versions are different. The GTS 250 is not one of those cards so you are good.

I buy OEM all the time! Never had an issue.

You just have to know what you are buying, otherwise it's just fine. There are a few cases where they have OEM's named differently than their non OEM versions. Like Nvidia's 300 series, which are nothing but 200 series cards.
