i have an xbox 360 and ps3 and have been offerd a pc with a core2quad 2.6ghz a think its the q6600 it has 4gb ram to swap for my ps3 . i dont ever use my ps3 so am thinking of doing the trade and buying a decent graphics card for the pc

my question is can it play games like call of duty black ops 2 and 2012 pc games if i get a video card ... if so can u reccomend a card for around 40-50 quid that would suite the system . (will prob be something used off ebay)

Depends which games, your resolution, in game settings, and the gpu you pair it with.

But my e8400 OC'd to 3.6Ghz and 1GB GTS 250(i know right) setup still handle the games i play at good frames. Skyrim/Batman/LoL/WoW/Dota 2/TF2/Portal.

if you overclock it the q6600 is still a decent cpu

its probably and hp or dell with and intel mobo wont be able to overclock.

I would keep the ps3 any gpu you would buy would need to 100- 150 +
taking other people hand me down computers can be a total loss then again I am bias because I build computers.

As a general rule, a C2Q is roughly equivalent to a PII X4 chip. So yes, at sufficient clocks.

That being said, I'd REALLY love a review to see how the Q9550 is holding up...
