The abit lg-95c has a 945gc / ich7 chipset. It is 65nm board, but because of the ich7 southbridge, it supports 45nm.
Is it possible run the E8xxx series cpu, even though they are for a 45nm board. I know for a fact that the maximum 2gb ram that is recommended for this board ,can be lifted to 4gb because of the ich7 southbridge.
Please, no feed back suggesting to buy new mobo. This is what i do as a hobby. I like to take old boards rev them up to their limit & sell them as a first pc for a young student who can't afford a new one.

Yes i know, 2.66ghz made by Conroe, but their fastest cpu is a e6850 (3ghz), which is also 65nm.
