I released the compact flash the CF came out and the pin still stays
up. THe manual says it should push down and stay down. if I put the
card in the pin sill stays up and i can't close the door
what im i or minolta doing wrong?

Is the pin one solid piece, or does it have a hinge that lets the
top part of it be moved to allow the door to close? When the CF
card is in the camera, the "pin" has to be raised, because you need
to push it down when it's time to eject the card.

On the 7i it's a foldy one - just need to put your finger on the top of the
pin and push it towards the CF card.

Not on the A2. On the A2 the pin must be down for the card to remain
in place and the door to close.
To the OP: it sounds like your CF ejecting mechanism is broken.
