Hi guys. I want to build a new computer however i'm stuggling... Should i get an fx 8120 or wait for Piledriver? The 8120 is 145 euros in europe at the moment, so that seems a reasonable price. These cpu's are also supported on the motherboards they're producing now, so i wont have any trouble with an unflashed bios motherboard. However, i've heard the Piledrivers are a decent improvement over the bulldozers but then i'll probably have to get another (more expensive) motherboard that supports those cpu's too and im on a budget. (1000 euros with screen). The motherboard i would use for the fx 8120 is the ASUS M5A97 PRO. I would also like to overclock. So what should i do, get the 8120 or wait for Piledriver.

I know about that, im planning to buy the Scythe mugen 3

My vote would be that since we're close enough to the release of PileDriver, it wouldn't hurt to wait, at the very least, it may drive Bulldozers down more in price. As far as the debate about whether one should buy one or Intel, I'm not going there today, its not what the OP asked, and those "going there" should refrain from it.

Yes, price restriction, also motherboard price amd mobos are cheaper than intels. Also Win 8 wil have support for 8 cores, I think the the FX processors will beat the i5 there.

lol. wait for piledriver. if you read that latest specs leak, they'll be clocked around 4 GHz, plus they'll be better than bulldozer.

Strongly suggest that you wait.
