Notice the noise in those samples. I doubt whether even moderate
reduction would fix them.
However, sharpness seems good for 100% crops.

Considering that neatimage or noise ninja can get rid of that easily, I
couldn't donsider that a problem at that high ISO.

I am looking at the ISO 800 sample. It's worse than 20D so this
sensor/camera combo is a big compromise. Is it the price to pay for live
preview?

Mainly colour noise which gets automatically removed if you shoot RAW
and process the image with the PC CS(2) RAW converter.

Thanks for the hint, yep Sony did it again.
They should have declared the camera max ISO 400 and
avoid again the same controversy which humbled them
with their 828 model...

They are just not a serious company!

Meaningless until the original images are relased.

Seems to stack up pretty well overall compared to the other cameras
tested against, including a DSLR:
