Random crashes even after upgrades

Tags:

My pc used to crash on me years ago, with the following specs:

Quote:
dual core 2.6GHz, G41 mobo, 4GB ram, windows 7 64bit, 500GB Samsung HDD, 500watt psu, standard case, 2 case fans

But the crashes weren't normal, it would be like this high pitched grinding / squeal through my speakers, and at random times, it could happen as log in, or after my pc has been on for hours.

I have upgraded piece by piece trying to pinpoint the problem, I think it is my CPU.

I am having the same crashes now, with the following specs:

Quote:
Core i5 quad core 3.1GHz, Asus p8H 61-M LX mobo, new8 GB ram (2x4GB), cooler master 550watt psu, cooler master Pgs case, nVidea GeForce GTS450 GDDR5 1GB graphics card, 500GB samsungHDD, 2TB Samsung HDD, 5 case fans

I have windows 7 installed on my primary drive (the 2TB one) and windows 8 on the other.

I have tried many different hard drives, formatting, reinstalling, upgrading, virus removal, but nothing works.

Also, nowif I press shutdown or sleep, it will restart. In both operating systems.

What should I do?
What can I do?
I am 17 and at school, I don't have ore money to upgrade to a brand new pc,or to buy a r2000 CPU, and my parents wont help me with it.

Please help.

Thanks,
Josh
