Black screen and lock up

my system has started black screening and locking up to the point where i have to hard reset it, i first noticed it when i started playing darksiders 2, havent really played many games on it before this.
i built it all from scratch, nothing is overclocked but i did set the gpu fan to full speed, i never get any error codes or logs or events after each crash, i just cant think what else could be going on.

MOTHERBOARD: asrock m3a770de am3

PROCESSOR: amd phenom x6 1055t 2.8ghz

RAM: corsair xms3 4gb 1600MHz ddr3 (2x2gb)

GPU: asus hd6770 1gb gddr5 (radeon) PCI-E

PSU: ocz stealthstream ii 500w

HDDS: Seagate Barracuda ST31000524AS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s
hitachi 500gb hdd SATA -[CONTAINS OS]
wd:1600 160 gb hdd IDE
seagate 160gb hdd EXTERNAL USB

OS: windows 7 ultimate 32bit

any help would be appreciated

i forgot to mention its connected to a 42" flatscreen and cloned on a little crt monitor, i dont know why i didnt think of it before but is it because its connected to the two and the crt isnt up to much anyways?
