My computer says it has built in Wi-Fi. Do I just need to buy a wireless router or do I need a wireless card? Also my son wants to buy a small laptop. Do I need to let my cable company know I am going wireless? If I have wireless in my home will he be able to connect to internet. New to this wireless thing.

If your desktop has built in wifi that means it has a wireless card. Your cable company might be willing to rent you a wireless router if you ask, otherwise you can buy a wireless router from Newegg and setup the wireless network yourself. A wireless router will allow you to connect your computers to the Internet using a wireless network. I hope this helps!
