Hi all..

I can see this question has been asked lots of times online.. but I still can not get a conclusive answer because of the two cards benchmarks on review websites..

several websites give the 6850 higher benchmark score.. but reading many reviews, I found that a lot say that 7770 gives almost the same framerate that 6850 gives, and sometime even higher, on most of settings.., which is so confusing.

What do you guys think?

I had both and the 6850 is usually less than 10% faster on average in everything but DX11 titles. Once DX11 is being rendered usually the 7770 will match or exceed the 6850. Given, they will still be within just a few FPS of each other.

The best I could get out of the 6850 was 930 core / 1140 memory @ 71C. The overclock from stock didn't seem to add more than maybe 2 FPS on average. It just didn't seem to be worth it for the heat it put out and the power it was drawing.

Also, the 7770 is a great overclocker (at least mine is). Mine is running under 60C @ 1175 Mhz Core / 1535 Mhz memory. I also seemed to get a few more FPS with the 12.7 beta catalyst drivers. With the 6850 and 7770 overclocked, the 7770 with the 12.7 drivers is still just a few fps faster than the overclocked 6850.

You will not go wrong with either the 6850 or 7770... they both operate in the same class. Your choice between the two boils down to preference. But just like Deemo13, I like the 6850.
