My laptop recently got repaired by Dell. I believe it had the entire motherboard replaced as the problem was pretty severe (wouldn't turn on at all). It had broken on me a while ago so I had to go through an extended warranty process.
Anyway, I reformatted it since I wanted a fresh install but know I can only detect the discrete graphics card. I used to be able to switch from integrated (via i5 M520) -> discrete by changing the power plan to high performance in the Windows Mobility Center but now it doesn't switch.
When I look up Display Adapters in the Device Manager, I only see the 310M listed. I believe there used to be two entries. As well, I think there used to be an Intel HD Graphics option when you right clicked the desktop (whereas now there is only the Nvidia Control Panel).
So yeah, any idea on how to get this working again? I'd imagine my battery life suffers heavily since I'm forced to run on the graphics card. I tried installing the driver packages that came with the laptop along with some off of Intel's site but no dice.
