It should run but it's going to be barely playable.

Shows crysis 2 running at 30 fps. Id imagine the original crysis running at a similar fps.

30 fps is just playable for a fps but i'm sure the minimum fps probably dipped into the teens.

Yes. I played on a Q6600 and a 5770, with 4Gb of ram. You system is better and shouldn't have a problem.

You should be able to run it at fairly pleasing detail levels, but don't expect it to be extremely smooth. Crysis 1 wasn't terribly well optimized and still brutalizes modern computers. It'll definitely be playable.

Never had an issue playing Crysis 1 on my 5870 or 7970. So not sure what you mean wasnt optomized. Sure ya cant max it out with the 5870 but had no issue with the 7970s.

How about crossfiring the 7770, any difference there? Ive read that by doing that its eqivalant to a 7970, which is a good card but not the best. Also ive been hearing about problems with running it on Win7, how do? Lol, btw i love this forum site, its been nothing but helpful so i wanna thank everyone for their responses.

I'm running Crysis 2 in DX11 mode on an HD6670 (in dual graphics mode with A8-3850) at 1680 X 1050, no problem so you should be fine with that combo

I found the problem with Crysis 1 to be lack of vram. 1gig wasn't enough to run the game smoothly. Crysis 2 won't be similar. It'll be tougher on the cards and then you need to add in DX11 which I think the first game wasn't.

CryEngine 3, that is used in Crysis 2, has reduced system requirements when compared to the first Crysis game that uses CryEngine 2.

Crysis & Crysis 2 at highest visual settings. AMD Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition Reference card is the blue bar. Crysis 2 is running in DX11.

Some of you people seem to forget that Renegade is gaming at 1600x900, not 1680x1050. Big difference! The 7770 will get you buy but its not a 7970, it costs $300 less. What do you expect. At that resolution a 7970 would be a complete waste of money, anyway.

yes, I picked up on that earlier. But if selected in the games control panel to be optimized it would probably default to 1024x768 on that hardware and on low/some medium settings.

You don't seem to realize that crysis 1 settings can get reeealy low. I proved that after beating it on integrated graphics.

It's definitely enough to run it, probably on medium settings, with good framerates.

who wants to play a visually stunning game on "really low" ? and do you play games to "beat them ? I don't think that's what they're for. it isn't baseball.

The benchmark above says 29 fps at 1680x1050. Don't forget: It was run at very high settings, 4x anti aliasing and at higher resolution than the OP. It will definitely be playable on high settings at your native resolution, don't worry OP!

I dis agree with this reply even tho this is an old post I have the 7770 I get High settings on on Crysis 3 at around 1600 res I don't know the FPS but it runs smooth this is a great entry level card Crysis is a demanding game Id say my fps are around 30-40 so that is good for me this card does a good job for the price My gt 630 2gb would run Skyrim High settings 1080 at around 20-30 fps the 7770 was a big Jump now get 40 -50 fps Ultra setting in Skyrim and I get around 30 FPS Ultra BF3 I would compare the 7770 to the gtx 550 TI since they both perform the same in my comparison as I own them both and they are round the same price and the 550Ti is a last gen card

i totaly agree with you, bought asus hd7770 a few months ago,and im very satissfied with it,ive got 1280x1024 samsung monitor(its not full hd) Ultra bf3-40-70 fps, tomb raider 2013 Ultra with turned off pretty hair effect avg 50 fps,Ultra metal gear rising-revengeance-60fps,bioshock infinite 60fps on ultra,crysis3 on custom high 50 fps..and i didnt even overclock my gpu..so yes it is good at non full hd resolutions . im not sure where part of people here gets their benchmarks, but i suppose some of the benchmarks are made only by looking on video core specs and just compared to other cards that was actually tested...about that crysis 1 game-ive played it on my amd a10 5800k built in graphics at high specs, runned with no lags...so i believe 7770 will destroy this game at same specs
