can i mix a double sided 256 Mb SDRAM with two single sided sticks of 128 Mb ???
both same brand..i have a crashy A7V133 which i am trying to fix

hangs / crashes and the will not reboot, says
"\WINNT\SYSTEM32\COFIG\SYSTEMced is corrupted or missing"

MS are unable to solve the problem.

yes, you can mix ram try to atleast have the Same Brand.

Nice Nvidia and ATi users get a Cookie.... :smile: Yummy :smile:

It is Ok to have different brand Ram but avoid no brand generic memory. I have two stick of MUSHKIN and two stick of Crucail in my system did not give me any problem

I think it depends more on luck as well as on your own system whether mixing brands or using no name brands will work. Sometimes, no name brands will work perfectly fine, but if you're unlucky, they may not work as expected.

Try not to mix double sided and single sided. Some motherboards just don't like it. I had one Asus P3V4X only last month that made all kinds of errors but when I removed the single sided and swapped it with a double sided from a different computer it worked again.
