July 10, 2012 11:25:22 AM

"No installation is necessary"

and that pop-up i do get when start windows it is "msibot32.dll"
a c 103 U Graphics card
July 10, 2012 3:26:00 PM

hmm i have never gotten that message when trying to update my directx before even if I had the most up to date version but I guess I have never had directx 11 before either. This seems to be a common issue with the game heroes of newerth....did this just start happening after you patched the game? If so uninstall the game and make sure you have plenty of harddrive space to install the game and the patch on (if necessary remove some stuff to make more room) then see if it still does it. here is the thread i got that info from

Hopefully this will help you...I just realized that this is the only game you are having issues with so it must be something specific with the game

Black Screen

This is for completely black screens only. If you are able to see the HoN interface, but in game most things appear black, please see Shader Problems
There are several things that can cause a black screen to occur when starting HoN.
Outdated mods
Causes: Files modified in mods being updated
console.log lines: Tons of errors about widgets
Solution: Delete all mods. You will need to download updates to them provided by their authors.
Insufficient permissions
Causes: Antivirus, strict directory permissions by windows, UAC, failed update
console.log lines: errors about loading modules/dlls.
Solution 1: Copy the dlls in %PROGRAMFILES(X86)%\Heroes of Newerth\game to %PROGRAMFILES(X86)%\Heroes of Newerth\. (Temporary bug related to KB2264107)
Solution 2: Do a Complete Reinstall and update HoN with antivirus and UAC disabled.
Solution 3: Do a Complete Reinstall to a folder outside of %PROGRAMFILES(X86)% (usually C:\Program Files (x86) on 64 bit winodows or just C:\Program Files on 32 bit windows) and update HoN with antivirus and UAC disabled.
Solution 4: Reformat and reinstall HoN.
Corrupt HoN install
Causes: Corrupted installer or failed update
console.log lines: errors about loading modules/dlls.
Solution: Do a Complete Reinstall with antivirus and UAC disabled.
Broken graphics drivers
Causes: Corrupted, buggy, or outdated graphics drivers
console.log lines: No console.logs found for reference. Please complete when the line(s) is/are identified.
Solution 1: Update your graphics drivers.
Solution 2: If other people are having problems with the same card, wait for the manufacturer to release an update and roll back to a working driver. If nobody else is having problems, reinstall windows.

one thing to try is to make sure all of your drivers are up to date....chipset etc....also you could flash the motherboard bios to the latest one to see if that helps

So when you go into a game you get a black screen saying 'no signal'? This most likely means that your monitor doesn't support the resolution you have your game set to. Try setting your games resolution lower in the graphics menu, or find out what your moniter supports up to and use that.
