More about : serial bus controllers
Hello stonepicker;
What you have is 'normal' and expected.
Those are not exactly duplicates - each category has a separate function.
While each category has multiple connections - that is a very good thing for redundancy.
USB Hub Controller / standard enhanced pci to usb host controller.....x 2
USG Host Controller / standard open hcd usb host controller .....x 5
USB Hub / usb root hub.......x 7

Thanks,
I am still trying to find an answer to my USB driver problem and have questions regarding the Disk Manager
NB I have no devices plugged into any usb ports
but in disk manager there are FOUR devices listed under volume
top two dont seem to open and may not exist - virtual only ?
next is boot c which seems correct
next recovery d which seems correct
if I click top one I get only the Help signal coming up (any type of click)
If I click second one down it will allow me to do such things as allocate a letter to it, this I have tried and it will then show up in devices and printers but will not open being something of a goast removed only by deleting the letter from that item in disk manager.
In devices and printers there exist another entry llisted as
Generic cf card reader usb device - this dosnt seem to exist either and I dont know how to remove it. (I suspect this is the top device shown in disk manager)
(this item has the yellow triangle and exclamation mark - this flag comming up for any usb stick I enter - all fail to find drivers even though all is advised as up to date etc
Can you help me in the matter or the driver problem matter

My other listing was in forum windows 7 drivers under
Memory stick not working in USB
Other items such as web cam find a driver and its ok but any memory stick including dongle and mass storage drives get a failure
The item will show up in devices and printers section but will have yellow triangle and exclamation mark on them.
as you will see from other listing I have tried removing them installing the latest drivers from facilities offered by computers guide but everything showing correct but still failing despite on and off of computer etc.
In this thread after your first repply I have listed a phantom which I cant remove etc maybee its something to do with this and its listings

That 'phantom' has nothing to do with the problem.

Following the computers help system i Found disk manager from start rh click computer disk manager is located
Start-Rh Computer-Maneger-storage section for Disk Manager.
I have only been in this section looking for a problem - I needed to try allocating a number to the device to see if that was the problem but it wasnt.
I am querys to see if this section is actualy correct from other peopls knowlege, I have never been this road before, but will correct the problem given the help and tools needed

On the top two there is nothing except a small oblong blob I think which indicates a storage device, there are no storage devices currently intered in any usb port
If you tell me how you provioded the illustration of yours sent before, I will try and send copy to you
To get a copy of your screen:
Start menu-> Accessories-> Snipping Tool
Use your mouse to draw a box around the area you want to capture - Click and hold the left button down to hilight the area you want. Release the button when you have the shape correct.
Save the image to your desktop.
Then you have to upload the image to a picture hosting site like: http://imgur.com
Upload the image from your computer. Then use the BBCode option and paste that into your post.

I can crawl thru barbed wire quicker..
I will try this out but it may be quicker for me to just type what I have on the screen.
I may be looking in the wrong direction with the problem I have - The computer sees the memory stick when plugged in then advised it cant get a driver etc as explained. The image of the stick will still show up but the warning triangle etc it shows thers some thing wrong and this is the bit I seem to be unable to find.
While you give this further thaught I will try out your advisory but dont hold your breath

I am missing something sory for this trouble
What you are seeing there is Disk 0 = 1 physical hard disk with four partitions.
Your 1TB HDD = Disk 0 = 900GB for your primary boot drive C: 30GB for your Recovery drive D:
You also have a 100MB OEM partition and a 1GB partition.
Plus the DVD/CD drive - currently empty.
-> Nothing on Disk 0 has anything what so ever to do with USB drives.
What you are seeing in the top window is all about the hard disk.
Now - next to the Disk0, over on the right, you can see a window slider that says where is part of the window not seen, under the CD/DVD drive. Move the slider and uncover the rest of the window. Plug one or your USB sticks in and see if you can find it in that lower window. For example here you can see 4 USB drives and the DVD drive with a disk in it:

I entered a memory stick and it showed up between the two lower placements.
I opened up the slider but nothing further to view
I am currently running my computer with thesignature enforcement disabled so that I can look at memory sticks which can be opened in this mode
I can see the stick entered correctly like yours below 0
it is disk 1 with its name correctly entered
No I discovered it tonight when I found the code listing when I was brave enough to look harder at all of the components within the field.
When I re start my computer I expect the error to return, but tonight I have mooved all stick info onto one big device.
It still seeems to be a driver signature error 52 do you have any guidence on how I can cure this without a download which provids the F8 configuration

I've never seen a #52 on an motherboard's USB deviced before.
Get an ID (make and model) of the motherboard you have installed.
Use CPU-z and find the info on the Mainboard Tab.

Do you want me to download and scan etc as the site seems to offer, or do I download and actually look for details of the motherboard, assuming I can find it easily. (Will the details be in my medion booklet or accessable from my computer itself without the need of a download)
may not have sent last one correctly will repeat
I downloaded from the site recommended
ran the download
although it stated it was a free site, it requested payment to fix reported errors
didnt find anything to report regarding the motherboard etc so obviously I am not on the correct track - will need further guidence

IOt was where we lest off yesterday and the information you indicated would be of help.
Mainly the web site you recommended, I think there must be an error in the details or how I understood/implimented them
Ref the website, I used the top information which is about speeding up your computer, I couldnt figure any other download on the site and I need further help to get it sorted

Ref the site you gave yesterday evening to gain information relating to motherboard etc.
I pressed on your link and I got to that site.
At the top it offers a download.
I figured that was what you requireed me to get in order to provide the details required.
I downloaded, and RAN the download and was offered a fix pack for a payment of around £19 or so. At this stage I thaught I had something wrong since the download was all about speeding up the computer etc.
Hence I didnt make progress as anticipated.
If you re visit site you will easily see how this misunderstanding has come about etc
