Healthbar over mobs' heads

OK, yesterday while fighting, I noticed that all of a sudden, all mobs
around me had a yellow/red healthbar over their heads. I can almost
swear that I didn't change any of my setup, since it seemed to
change between battles. I tried to go thru setup to see what got
changed but couldnt find anything. The solution was to logoff
and back in, and the healthbars were gone.

No sign of mob healthbars anymore. I am still curious as to what
option turns this on/off since I may one day want to try that
feature again.

I think you accidentally hit the, "v" key.

Does anyone actually use this feature in combat? It seems mostly more
annoying than useful, though I wonder if when faced with a lot of
enemies (mass pvp for example) could it be useful to identify badly
wounded foes to ranged DPS classes?

I almost always have it on when doing an instance with my warrior. It
gives me a quick check as to how many mobs are close on those big
pulls and it also shows me which one is taking the most damage and
needs to be concentrated on for taunting purposes.

Quoted for truth. You can also use it to 'cheat' a little because you
can often see the healthbar for mobs who are behind walls and around
corners. (Probably part of the reason why the bars only appear for
mobs who are pretty close.)

I turn it off in towns, but yes it's great during combat when you're
grouped.

I would go further and say that people not using this (in groups in
instances, against tough elites) are a common source of coordination
problems. Instead of melting the right mob like everyone else, they are
banging on some very healthy mob and making a wipe more likely. These
are also the same players break your sheep, won't let you sheep a
near-healthy mob, break shackles, etc, again because they are not on the
same page as the other melee classes. The mob healthbars can be
annoying but the alternative is ignorance. Some people can coordinate
quite well just using "assist", but the healthbars still help.

Very useful for a mage sheeping and doing damage, especially when your
MT has a tendency to switch targets to keep aggro; avoids doing an
assist on the wrong target!
