Replaced Motherboard - Now CPU will not stay on

My friend replaced my motherboard on my Dell computer. Before this the power button (which used to light up blue) was only lighting up yellow as if it was in a safe mode. He told me motherboard needed to be replaced. Now that it has been replaced it will turn on and turn back off. Any suggestions?

If the computer turns off without doing anything, you probably have a short somewhere, often a screw or motherboard tray stud at the wrong place or something connected at the wrong place.

It could also be that you forgot to plug a power cable to your GPU or ATX12V connector on the motherboard.
