I put Windows 7 on my PC with a M2N-SLI MB over a year ago and I have intermittent problems with the sound. The device driver W7 loaded is USB and my system has never had USB speakers. I cannot find what driver to use so my standard Logitech speakers work consistently. Can anyone help me with a driver and where to find it on the web?

Hello Linda Nell;

The sound device driver would not be USB - its for the sound chip on your motherboard.
So you're using the Vista driver from the Asus M2N-SLI website?

You can ask Win7 to check and see if there is a better driver for you.
Update a driver for hardware that isn't working properly
They mention the automatic and manual methods for updating drivers.

I will check the guides you gave me, but I am not sure about your remark re Vista drivers. Vista has never been on this machine. I went from XP to Win 7 when I had to replace a bad HD. This is the driver that loaded with Win 7 and when I try troubleshooting it, I get the message it is working properly. Sometimes, it even is, LOL, so it is hard to test it. Right now it is okay, but tomorrow I may only get static. I am waiting for it to go south on me again before I go through the tests you suggest.
