Bad Memory = Reinstall Windows?

Hi guys,

New build, installed the OS then ran Memtest86. Memtest showed many errors. Windows 7 seems to run normally, but should I trust that install or is it better to run the install again when I get the memory problem sorted out?

Basically, I'm asking if bad memory could create a corrupt Windows 7 install or is there some sort of error correction going on during the install?

The entire base installation, including all important files, is digitally signed. If there are any modifications to these files you will know about it. The installation process also largely bypasses the memory, it copies most files directly from the DVD to the disk.

If you just installed it and haven't loaded anything up yet, you can go ahead and reinstall; better safe than sorry.
