Possible I/O Shield short

All right, I think I'm just about in the final stages of wrapping up this build, and my money is on a short in the rear I/O shield keeping the system from posting. Specifically, I'm focusing on these three weird spring brackets that drape over the DVI connector slot. Once installed, they wind up physically blocking the business end of the connector, which just isn't right. What the devil do I do with those?

what motherboard do you have?

have you tried running it without the IO shield installed?

Hey, Outlander. Thanks for the response; I managed to isolate my problem, almost by accident. I had the case fans plugged into the power supply and also into the board, which causes it not to boot. I'm going to shut this one down and give you a Best Answer for your trouble. :)
