Should I buy Trendnet 450mbps TEW-692GR router?

okay. i plan on buying the trendnet 692GR router with the 450mbps usb adapter that supports dual band but i need some clarification if i should..i have the att dsl elite package since 20$ a month is in my budget..download up to 6mbps upload up to 0.7mbps so i was wondering will the trendnet router/adapter set up increase my speed in any way? for ex not lag in games..have good bandwidth..stream fast HD videos..smooth internet calls etc. ultimately will it have a affect on my speed? Should i put in 200 for this setup. Also i been wanting to upgrade my old 2701 HG B router since its been 2yrs..tell me your thoughts.

it will not change the download and upload speed.

if you decide to use your own router get help from AT&T to convert your ADSL router to a modem only (they should be able to do that remotely).
