I'm having a problem with the new beta drivers (12.7 - July), but after a bit of digging, I've noticed some people have had the same problem with other versions of AMD's drivers...
Now, before, on the 12.4 drivers (which ran beautifully, might I add) I managed to max out an overclock of 1100Mhz on the core, 1575 on the mem, 1.2v on the voltage and +20% on the TDP slider (in the CCC).
After installing 12.7, all hell breaks loose with any amount of overclocking, and I've noticed the TDP slider changes on it's own, sometimes reverting back to 0% or changing to a random +15% without my input. If that was the only problem I'd be happy, but the driver keeps on crashing anytime I touch the overclock options at all, from black screens to orange vertical stripes to conflicting with the mouse (I was left spinning on the spot in a game of BF3...).
Now, performance is great (when it does work, not often), and it seems to break MORE when doing stuff on the desktop (general web browsing, youtube, watching video files off BD drive).
I wasn't expecting the earth since they're beta drivers, but I've seen the orange bars called the "VBOD", the Vertical Bars of Death, have I inadvertently killed my card? Is this just a weird glitch that I can't OC at all thanks to the release of the 7970 Ghz Edition? (which I know messes with the TDP and overclocking was weird on it)
