I built this new rig because my old one suddenly died on me while I was playing Skyrim. When I did a simple check of my old computer, the PSU (the one listed above) was still supplying power to the graphics card and I could hear it running, but the CPU fan wasn't turning, so I thought it was the mobo that had fried and caused my computer to die.
Now that I got my new rig (above) all built just now using my old PSU and graphics cards, I tried powering up the computer. First thing that happens is I see the system fan lights turns on for half a second, then completely turn off. Nothing else sounds like they were moving in any way. I tried clicking the power again but to no avail. I thought I had plugged in the power and reset switch backwards into the mobo, so I flipped them around, but still the same problem.
Now, I have a feeling that it's actually my PSU that has buggered out on me instead of my mobo.
Anyone have a diagnostic of what is broken?? I have a limited budget that has already been spent on the major parts of this new rig, so if it's really my PSU that's fried, can someone please recommend a cheap PSU brand and model?
