I'm looking to upgrade my video card from a HIS ATI 5770 to a undetermined brand AMD 7850.

My current build has:

Motherboard: BIOSTAR TA790GXB3
Processor : AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition @ 3.4GHz
Memory: 4GB OCZ 1600 (2 x 2GB) DDR3
Power Supply: OCZ 600W Modular

Let me know if you need more information about the computer, but I'm wondering if I will see a substantial increase in gaming performance with this upgrade, or if my processor will be holding it back too much. My gaming resolution is 1920x1080.

I plan to upgrade to an intel i5 or i7 eventually, but I don't have the budget for it at the moment since have go get new motherboard with processor (and maybe a new windows license too).

I don't see much benefit to upgrading to a FX processor from the 965. The benchmarks I've looked at make the 965 and 8150 pretty close even from a productivity standpoint (and only a difference of 3-5 fps in gaming). Also, my motherboard has an old 790GX chipset that I don't think can support a FX processor. I know that I want to step into an intel ivy bridge i5 processor this upgrade when I get to it.

Also, I want to upgrade my motherboard so that I can utilize the front usb 3.0 on my case to the fullest speed. Thanks for you input on the 7850 though. I think I'm going to jump on the MSI 7850 that newegg has for $210 after MIR.
