When to upgrade? Is it necessary?

I recently upgraded my motherboard, GPU, RAM, and video card when I began to wonder about my Power Supply.

When, if ever, would one need to upgrade? It's a 850w XFX and has served me well these last few years. I've noticed a good number of computers use 550w, 600w, and 700wpower supplies in their rigs and though mine is discontinued Im not sure if a replacement is needed. Would I only need one if my computer demanded more than 850w?

That's a good power supply and should last for years. The only time you would need to upgrade it is if you sli/crossfire power hungry cards and overclock your cpu radically and add a bunch of hard drives.....

Hi - No need to upgrade. Even if you decide to CF/SLI you have more than enough
power & silver efficiency to boot. Nice unit.
