New GPU?

Alright so I have a friend who wants to play BF3, but he has older hardware, the PC he has is listed below.


Intel 2 Quad 2.4 GhZ Q6600
Windows Vista Home 32 bit
Nvidia 8500 GT
3GB of DDR2 RAM.
1440x900 resolution


Should he get a new system, or upgrade this one?

I would say a complete up grade in other words a new system. Your CPU just makes min requirements. Your OS of 32bit I don't know for sure it might be. Your GPU is below min requirements.

You are 1 gig over min ram. I would not take a chance on this system even if you upgrade your GPU everything is at min or below. here is the min and recommended requirements for BF3. I wish you and your friend good luck.
