Hey everybody, I understand that I'm sure not many requests for information such as this are posted here too often, but I figured I'd try. Not sure if anybody has any experience here with such a thing but Iv'e been wanting to build a Virtual host cluster for my home for quite awhile, which isn't all that complex of a task in general but I have a specific question that I can't seem to find much openly available information on. I know all well that Virtual servers in general aren't sufficient for playing video games on, and that's the question I have, does anyone have any idea of how to possibly allow for that type of performance, say for example I wanted 4 end-points to be able to play Crysis on max with full AA etc, not worrying about the cost itself, but the feasibility of being able to allow the endpoints to render that type of thing. Along with the question of input latency, such as I know there are problems with this type of system where input often has a significant amount of delay etc. That said, I'm wondering if anyone here knows any solutions to this part of the equation. I haven't decided on specific parts yet of course because this is the problem I'm having on my decision. I'll be using the cluster for other things as well but this is the only part I'm having a problem finding information on.
Also if anyone is interested I'm looking to build a system that will be hosting 8 endpoints in my home and a few servers, at an overall output of 200ghz or so of conventional processing power, along with 2TB of ram and a SSD storage array with eventually 100tb of space to work with [not initially because the money I have to spend wouldn't cover it]. Either way I'd specifically like to know your thoughts on the idea of being able to play video games on something like this at any of the endpoints. I'm not too sure on how I'd go about this, or how to interface GPU'S in such a setup, I've never worked too much on the frontend of a server like this, so any references or ideas would be useful, thanks.
