your quad core i5 2500k is more powerful for sure but for gaming, I guess your friends hd6850 would do better. His i3 2100 is still a pretty good dual core cpu and it certainly wouldn't bottleneck the hd6850. Hence his rig is better for gaming.

Tho you may get better frame rates in some games that mostly use cpu. (e.g starcraft)however, that wouldn't be the case for most games.

If I had to pick one, I will pick yours but with 4gb ram and I will also think about upgrading the graphics card in a few months.
  2. hey but which is better overall ?(besides gaming?)
  3. He has a better card, but you have a better CPU that will last longer.

I'd choose yours over his, because you can buy a 6850 for cheap and have a better setup than him. But you should get more RAM, ram is dirt cheap. Get 8 gigs for 44$ and you are good.

I'm not denying that your rig is good, I'm just saying it could be a lot better with some small upgrades. 8gb RAM + 6850 would work wonders.

    any other opinions?

your pc is better for general use and your friend's pc is better for gaming. I picked yours because it can be easily upgraded and customised. upgrading your mates pc will be more of a hassle.
  8. ty also what do think will be better in bf3 multiplayer ?
  9. definitely your mates computer..

lol I wonder what my pc would look like in your country :P
  10. i dont know....
    i guess......
    the godfather?
  11. hey also i wanted to ask does cpu make more difference in bf3 multiplayer or gfx card ?
both of us play @ 1080p all details low (only multiplayer ,campaign i play at ultra)
  12. From a gamer standpoint, I would also pick your friend's system, the reason being that the advantage that your CPU brings, though massive for multi-threaded processing, is miniscule when it comes to gaming on 6770 instead of 6850. But the advantage that your friend's GPU brings in is considerable even when coupled with the i3. Moreover the i3 on its own is not a bad CPU for everyday use.

In my opinon, a boost of 10 fps across the fragile 25-35fps range is way more worth than a 10 second shave off processing time. A deficit in the latter is tolerable but not the former.

6770 was not available for selection so selected 5770 instead for comparison as 6770 is in fact a rebadged 5770
  13. i would pick your friend's computer.. 6850 is better than 6770. even though your CPU is much much better, it's not a MUST for gaming. i3 can handle 1080p res just fine. But for everyday overall work, yours is better. from a strict gaming point of view i would pick then one with the better GPU :-)

Note: his rig also has usb 3.0 and sata3 support. (edit : yours doesnt)

    hope this helps :)
  14. thanks everyone!
cant choose a best answer b'coz you all rock!
  15. pocket money rig? lol .. just do yourself a favour then. sell your 6770 for maybe 5k? and then get something like a 6870/560ti/7850.. IceQ X versions of 6870 are around 11k
  16. hey bhai my papa only gives me pocket money and my rig cost me 40k
i bought it in last summer vacation no upgrade here!
  17. okay buddy. :-)
  18. ok by!
