Hello,

Ive got a prebuilt pc that I bought from cyberpower a little less than a year ago for a pretty cheap price. It runs most games pretty well but its definitely not capable of running everything at 60+ fps.

AMD fx-4100
amd radeon hd 6670
mobo is a gigabyte ga-m68mt-s2

trying to play guild wars 2 has been pretty frustrating because i get pretty bad fps (30ish with EVERYTHING off and low as possible), i know i should be getting better performance but if its just optimization i dont want to be waiting months for it to get better.

Anyways, if I were to replace something what would be the best method?
A friend is offering me GTX 560 Ti 2GB for 150, would this be a legit upgrade so that i could run gw2 and such at 60 fps with decent quality settings?

Thanks!

GTX 560Ti can handle a whole bunch of games on max settings
You should overclock your CPU a bit, so that you make sure you don't have bottlenecks.
How much RAM do you have?

so what are you looking for go with GeForce GTX 560 Ti. Excellent 1920x1200 performance, Good 2560x1600 performance in most games with lowered detail.new gpu price is around $229 but you are getting at cheap price so go for it.if want more better performance go with FX8120 cpu+gtx 670 gpu

thanks for all the feedback,

@crowz9 I actually am not aware of how to oc my cpu, never overclocked either my cpu or gpu.

@maninder055 1920x1080 is all im looking for really!

also, just wanted to make sure but will the GTX 560 Ti be compatible with my cpu? I know the fx processors are kind of weird and im really not very tech savvy so i am not sure

How safe is this?

Ive never overclocked anything in my life and am pretty intimidated to just do it without solid instructions for my cpu and stuff. thanks for the replys too, still getting bad fps in gw2 which is driving me crazy

It's actually pretty simple, AMD processors are easier to overclock, since you can increase the frequency by 500 MHz for example, without having to buy extra cooling for your CPU. I have a dual core athlon with stock 2.9 GHz overclocked it to 3.5 GHz and perfectly stable.
If you're new to this, I don't recommend tweaking the voltage of the CPU(It's pretty dangerous).
Search on youtube "How to overclock a CPU through the bios" to find easy to follow tutorials.
